Start before 6-7 AM if you can — it clears the Ghaziabad/Meerut Expressway before daytime traffic builds and gets you to the Mohand hill climb into the Doon valley while it’s still light.

Mohand is the natural "last stop" before the road starts climbing — it’s the easiest place to fuel up, grab an ATM, or use a proper washroom before the hill stretch, where options thin out.

During monsoon (July–September), build in a buffer for waterlogging on the NCR stretch near Ghaziabad/Meerut and slower going around Roorkee — the highway itself is well-maintained, but city sections flood fast in heavy rain.

Mobile network is reliable for almost the entire plains corridor since it runs along a national highway; the only stretch where it can dip briefly is the forested Mohand ghat climb itself.
